What Is The Ocala Tesshinkan?
What makes us different?
The Ocala Tesshinkan is comprised of a small group of dedicated practitioners of Okinawan Ryu Kyu Kobudo. It is the
Ocala Tesshinkan's goal to help teach and spread the accurate interpretation of real Okinawan Kobudo. A very
misunderstood Okinawan system in North America. With direct training under Tamayose Hidemi Sensei, founder and
President Hanshi Kudan of the Tesshinkan in Okinawa Japan, and Donald Shapland Sensei of Chilliwack Canada, Godan,
International Liason, it is now possible to help encourage martial art students from many different styles and
backgrounds to come together and see for themselves what the western world has completely misunderstood now for
so many years.
The Ocala Tesshinkan is a nonprofit NON commercialized Dojo. Membership must be
earned. This keeps training very serious and only keeps the serious training. There are no
cheering crowds, and less room for egos. We simply let the Kihon decide who continues to
train with us. Constant training of the Kihon by everyone is what allows us to grow.
** Even though our membership is limited, we encourage anyone
interested in learning to contact us to set up a demonstration. It is
our full intent to share what we have learned from those who have
shared with us.
- A complete syllabus of study of Okinawan Weapons in a non-commercialized setting
- Authentic Kihon and Kata developed by Shinken Taira and Akamine Eisuke.
- A Chance to train and learn directly with Tamayose Hidemi
-An Opportunity to learn something truly unique that can only be appreciated by experience.
